Welcome back to another year of Harwin StrongStart.
The first day of class is October 3, 2022.
Class time is Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 11:30 am.
StrongStart is a free parent/guardian participating early years program for children 0 - 5 years of age provided by SD57 and sponsored by the ministry of Education.
StrongStart is a play-based early learning program that is led by an Early Childhood Educator and focuses on social emotional learning and introduction to early literacy, numeracy and cognitive development. 
StrongStart runs on a drop-in bases and families may attend anytime within operating hours that best suits your needs. Registration form can be filled out on your first day of attendance. Birth certificate required to complete the registration. Looking forward to a great year!
 

SD57 is committed to providing quality, equitable, and inclusive Early Learning experiences and opportunities for young children and their families.  Schools, families and communities can work alongside children to provide rich learning experiences.  SD57 acknowledges children as strong, capable and full of potential and active participants in their own learning journey. 

 

SD57 has 14 StrongStart locations:

  • 8 programs that run 5 days per week – Harwin, Heather Park, Morfee (in Mackenzie), Nusdeh Yoh, Peden Hill, Quinson, Ron Brent, Spruceland Community School of the Arts
  • 6 Outreach Programs – Beaverly, Malaspina, McBride Centennial, Nukko Lake, Pineview, Valemount

 

StrongStart is:

  • Free for children aged 0-5 with their parent or caregiver
  • Guided by Early Childhood Educators and the Early Learning Framework
